Partnership's Combined Strengths Better Serve Titanium and SuperAlloy Customers

In 2001, Strategic Minerals Corporation and Kennametal International Specialty Alloys formed a strategic alliance that allows titanium producers to obtain all their critical-quality master alloys, including customized products, from a single source. A new, state-of-the-art greenfield plant allows the partnership to meet the demanding quality requirements of these two industries and their aerospace customers.

Strategic Minerals Corporation brings vanadium production-and-marketing expertise to the partnership. For over 40 years, the company has been meeting the critical-quality requirements of vanadium-bearing master alloys used in titanium-aircraft applications. Starting with the highest-quality vanadium raw materials in the industry, Strategic Minerals now produces vanadium-aluminum and other vanadium master alloys in International Specialty Alloys' state-of-the-art plant. In addition, the company's marketing subsidiary - Stratcor, Inc. - markets the full line of master alloys produced by the partnership.
