WHY BUY FROM US ]
[ FROM DIVERSE FEEDS
TO AN OXIDE OF THE HIGHEST PURITY ]
The unique process at Hot Springs, Arkansas produces Stratcor®
vanadium-chloride catalysts used in rubber and synthetic polymers. When
the raw materials arrive at Strategic Minerals' Hot Springs plant, each
shipment must meet rigid quality standards before being accepted for
chloride production.
Production
of Vanadium Oxytrichloride and Vanadium-Titanium Mixes:
From High-Purity Raw Materials to High-Quality Catalysts

Vanadium
chlorides are produced in computer-controlled reactors
to assure quality and consistency. Mixing high-purity
vanadium oxide and chlorine in this reactor forms
a high-purity vanadium-oxytrichloride gas. A condenser
then forms a liquefied product that is filtered
to further remove impurities. Vanadium
oxytrichloride is then pumped into containers
for shipment to EPDM synthetic-rubber customers.
For
customers desiring vanadium-titanium
mixes (CAB catalysts), vanadium oxytrichloride
and titanium tetrachloride are blended in liquid form
to customer specifications.
Vanadium-Tetrachloride Production: Fully Integrated
from
Raw Materials to Finished Product

Similar
steps take place in the production of vanadium
tetrachloride, also used in the production of
synthetic rubber.
Before
any Stratcor® vanadium-chloride catalyst is shipped,
a representative sample from each tank is carefully
analyzed and a certificate of analysis is prepared.
Each tank is also painted and labeled based on U.S.
Department of Transportation, OSHA, and IMO regulations.
It is also fitted with valves according to customer
specifications.
A
final check of the weight, chemical analysis, and
valve configuration assures each customer that the
shipment will meet his rigorous-quality standards.
