ALTERNATE PRODUCTION FOR VANADIUM-ALUMINUM
DANBURY, Connecticut, September 11, 2007 —
Because of an explosion and fire on August 29, 2007, International Specialty Alloys (ISA) has temporarily stopped producing vanadium and non-vanadium master alloys for aerospace applications at its New Castle, Pennsylvania plant. The shutdown affects the production of Stratcor ® vanadium-aluminum used by the titanium industry.
Stratcor, Inc., the Strategic Minerals Corporation subsidiary responsible for the production and marketing of vanadium alloys in the United States, is arranging for alternate vanadium-aluminum production that will meet the needs of its titanium customers until production resumes at the ISA plant.
Updated information on the availability of Stratcor ® master alloys can be obtained by contacting the Stratcor, Inc. office in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at +1 412 787 4500 or requesting information on the Contact Us form on this Web site.
